The Sifting Station lets villagers pan for gold in the water beside it. It is meant for river shores. Panning never runs out, but it is much slower than mining a gold deposit.
Placement
The Sifting Station must be built on a shore: part on land with its front edge in the water. The placement preview refuses a site that does not touch water.
Function
- Once the station is finished, villagers can be ordered onto the water beside it to pan.
- Panning yields 100 Gold per minute of working time per villager (about one Gold every 0.6 s). A villager mining a gold deposit gathers 10 Gold per second.
- The water never runs out.
- Up to 16 villagers can pan at one station, depending on how much usable shoreline it has. Extra villagers you order are not started.
- The station also accepts Gold as a drop-off, for panned gold and for gold from deposits.
- The panning water belongs to the station's owner. Other players cannot pan there.
- If the station is destroyed, its panners stop. They do not walk off to a gold deposit by themselves.
Tips
- A Sifting Station is a steady Gold income once the map's gold deposits are mined out.
- Panning is roughly a sixth of the rate of mining a deposit, so it pays only with many villagers or over a long game.
