The Trading Hub is your marketplace. It gives access to the Market, where resources are bought and sold for Gold, and it trains Trade Carts, which earn Gold on routes to an ally's Trading Hub.

The market

Select a finished Trading Hub of yours and press Open Marketplace. See Market for how buying, selling and prices work.

  • Starting a route: select trade carts and right-click a finished Trading Hub that belongs to an ally.
  • Allies only. A route to your own Trading Hub is always refused. Only players on the same team count as allies.
  • The cart travels from its home hub (the hub that trained it) to the ally's hub and back, again and again. It is paid when it returns home.
  • If its home hub is lost, the cart uses your nearest other finished Trading Hub. With none left, the route ends.
  • Pay per round trip depends on the straight-line distance between the two hubs:
Gold = 0.4 × (distance in metres − 40), rounded, with a maximum of 120 per trip.
Distance between hubs Gold per round trip
40 m or less 0 (the route is refused as too close)
100 m 24
200 m 64
340 m or more 120 (the maximum)
  • Only the cart's owner is paid.
  • A route ends if the cart is given a move or attack order, if it dies, or if the destination hub is destroyed or no longer belongs to an ally.
  • While on a route the cart shows a pile of cargo.

Trade Ships run the same kind of route by water, between allied Fishing Docks. See Naval.

Notes

  • The AI builds a Trading Hub during the game, but it does not train trade carts.
